British Transport Police (BTP) is the national police force for the railways. Every day, we police the journeys of more than six million passengers and 400,000 tonnes of freight over 10,000 miles of track across Great Britain. We believe travelling is about more than just getting there. It’s about ensuring safety and security all the way.

Our TeachingZone aims to give you the information needed to teach children and young adults about what we do, how to stay safe on the railways and about the crime we deal with.

You’ll also find resources to download such as lesson plans, fact sheets, posters and media files that can be used with a classroom’s interactive whiteboard.
