The Northern Rail Cup ‘Momentum’ School Tour of selected schools in Northern Rail’s network area took place in March 2008.

The rugby league clubs involved were:

• Gateshead Thunder
• Dewsbury Rams
• Workington Town
• Rochdale Hornets
• Sheffield Eagles
• Whitehaven

The tour comprised of visits to both junior and high schools with attendance by two of a club’s top players and their coach. Each session comprised of a rail safety presentation under the banner of ‘Momentum’. The players introduced the Northern Rail cup followed by a question and answer session and photo shoot.
